LANA’S BOOK GIVEAWAY #1

Lessons in Falling by Diana Gallagher

LESSON ONE: Playing it safe beats taking chances.

After an injury ends Savannah’s dream of a college gymnastics scholarship, she quits
despite her parents’ protests. She won’t risk breaking her body—and heart—again.

LESSON TWO: Catch your best friend when she falls—or regret it forever.

Rules are meant to be broken, according to Savannah’s best friend, Cassie—and it’s more fun to break them together. But when Cassie attempts suicide, Savannah’s left wondering how well she really knows her.

LESSON THREE: Leaping forward, not knowing where you’ll land, is the hardest of all.

Falling for Marcos wasn’t part of the plan. Not only did he save Cassie’s life, he also believes Savannah can still achieve her dreams. Except Cassie thinks Marcos and gymnastics will only break Savannah’s heart.

As Savannah tumbles and twists through toxic friendships and crushing parental expectations, she realizes you never know who will be there when you fall.

If you’re in the US you can choose print or digital; all other countries can choose digital.

LANA’S BOOK GIVEAWAY #2

Choice of one book for Katrina Emmel

Three of Katrina’s fave books are by PW mentors! The first is Diana’s (listed above), but she also loves SOME KIND OF MAGIC by Mary Ann Marlowe and AMERICA’S NEXT REALITY STAR by Laura Heffernan – you get your choice!

If you’re in the US you can choose print or digital; all other countries can choose digital.

SOME KIND OF MAGIC by Mary Ann Marlowe

Biochemist Eden Sinclair has no idea that the scent she spritzed on herself before leaving the lab is designed to enhance pheromones. Or that the cute, grungy-looking guy she meets at a gig that evening is Adam Copeland. As in the Adam Copeland—international rock god and object of lust for a million women. Make that a million and one. By the time she learns the truth, she’s already spent the (amazing, incredible) night in his bed…

Suddenly Eden, who’s more accustomed to being set up on disastrous dates by her mom, is going out with a gorgeous celebrity who loves how down-to-earth and honest she is. But for once, Eden isn’t being honest. She can’t bear to reveal that this overpowering attraction could be nothing more than seduction by science. And the only way to know how Adam truly feels is to ditch the perfume—and risk being ditched in turn…

Smart, witty, and sexy, Some Kind of Magic is an irresistibly engaging look at modern relationships—why we fall, how we connect, and the courage it takes to trust in something as mysterious and unpredictable as love.

Pitch Wars 2017: #PimpMyBio

Hi, and welcome!

Cool. Now that we’ve got the 80’s references out of the way…

About my manuscript…

She’s an heiress to a whisky fortune. He’s an esteemed distillery engineer. Problem is, they’re the same person, and now she’s being blackmailed.

YA Historical set in Victorian Scotland. It won the Windy City RWA contest and is a finalist in the YARWA Rosemary contest.

How ’bout a little visual to match…

This manuscript hasn’t been queried yet; I want to get it shiny first. 🙂

I’m looking for a mentor who can help with the big picture like pacing, plot development, etc. Line editing, less so.

And I’ll work hard! I work best under deadline pressure.

About me…

Fun: I’ve been in marketing for 15+ years…so yeah, I know booze. Scotch Whisky & Wine, to be exact. My corporate background means I’m familiar with branding, PowerPoints, deadline, and spreadsheets! Exciting, right?

Not fun: went through a creative dry spell last year, beginning at 11pm on Nov 8th, 2016 and didn’t let up until Jan 21, 2017. Enough said.

More fun: I teach Pinterest for Authors and Branding for Authors for Margie Lawson’s Writing Academy, Savvy Authors, and various RWA chapters.

Most fun: I live in NY with my 6 year old, black lab puppy, and Scottish hubby.

Yeah, kilts.
