Time for the annual #PimpMyBio blog hop for Pitch Wars Contestants!!!

This is just for fun, for mentees and mentors to get to know each other better. I repeat, this is NOT mandatory…but I know some mentors use it to  get to know contestants better.

The Blog Hop closes when the Pitch Wars sub window does…August 6th

STEP ONE: Create a #pimpmybio blog post on your website / blog..tell us about you!

And please add a link to the Blog Hop here:

STEP TWO: Link your post, using the button at the very bottom of the post. For title, put your name + genre

STEP THREE: Search the #pimpmybio hashtag on twitter & make friends!

STEP FOUR: Stalk the #pitchwars feed incessantly on twitter

*PLEASE READ AGAIN* The first box on the link will automatically pull up the title of your blog post. Please change it to “Your name / Category & Genre”

I have a question. I’m interested in participating in #pimpmybio but I don’t have a website or a blog. Can I use my Twitter account in some way?

    Thanks for doing this.

  2. Ashley says:

Hey! I left the wrong title. It must have auto corrected me arghhh Can you help me out? *****Ashley Cass – YA – Dark Urban Fantasy

    • Lana says:

      Anything you want!
Things about you / your MS / Your writing process / Your fandoms / your hobbies / What you’re looking for in a mentor…etc…

      • Holly says:

Awesome! So I made a post and I came back to link, but I’m getting ‘endless loading’ for InLinkz and have been all day. Neither the current blogs linked nor the ‘add your link’ will load for me. Has anyone else had this problem?

  3. Kat Turner says:

Hi! I’m not sure how to add a link to the blog hop, as per the directions in step one. Can you clarify?

  4. Rebecca says:

Oh no! My pic is sideways and I screwed up the title. Can you fix it?? **grovelling** —Rebecca Markus- Psychological Suspense

  5. John W Siskar says:

Hmm, for some reason changed my title to that of my blog post:

Any chance you can change it to John W Siskar – Adult Fantasy?

Adult Fantasy, btw, sounds really dirty.

  6. Ralph Walker says:

Hi Folks. It would be awesome if you could include a link to the next person on the list at the end of your blog post, and a link to the person before you. If we can all get that rolling it will be simpler to blog hop between sites. I set it up on at the end of my post (#No 79) if you want an example.

  7. Deb Drick says:

So…I messed up. I let the link name itself instead of me doing it.

Mine should say “Deb Drick, Middle Grade Fantasy.”

Can you delete and I will redo?

  8. Bonnie Blaylock says:

I tried correcting my title on my blog, but it still shows incorrect one. Could you hold my hand, please? Helllppp!

  9. Bonnie Blaylock says:

Lana, yes & yes. I think maybe it was because when I set up the link I picked a difft picture for the thumbnail? Not life or death, but I like the new one much better. If you get a second and it’s fixable, could you change please??

  10. Candace Davenport says:

So obviously, I can’t follow directions… (no matter how many times you told us…)

My title should read, Candace Davenport, Adult Epic Fantasy w/ Sci-Fi components

Sorry to make more work for you (she said, holding out her wrist to be slapped)!

  11. Kristina Rinard says:

Apparently my name is wrong too! Not sure what happened?! I’m sure I missed a step somewhere! It should be Kristina Rinard/Middle Grade/Contemporary. I’m number 98. Can you fix it?! Thank you soooooo much!

  12. Trevor says:

Ha ha. Looks like I goofed on my title too. Can you change it so that it reads:

Trevor Scott | YA Contemporary LGBTQ

    I’m # 133
    Thanks in advance.

  13. Sabina says:

Hi! Is it supposed to be more of a query, or are mentors interested in info about how the book came about?/expanding on the query?

    • Lana says:

Hi – not a query at all. Lots of info about you – your likes, fandoms, influences etc. And a short logline on the book. Maybe add your novel aesthetics. Good luck!

  14. Laurie Lascos says:

    Hi Lana,

I thought I put my name and genre in the correct spot, but it posted with the blog title. Would you be so kind as to fix me? Laurie Lascos MG Fantasy

  15. Elora Cook says:

    Hi Lana!

I’ve realized my manuscript isn’t Epic Fantasy. Is there a way to change it to just YA Fantasy? Mine is number 16 Elora Cook. Thanks!
